Path of Exile Item Upgrades
The performance of a variety of Path of Exile items can be enhanced by upgrading the performance of them. They can also provide additional damage, AD or even affixes.
Sometimes, however, upgraded Common and Magic gear is often surpassed by Rare-grade gear because of their requirements.
Armor
Armor upgrades are a form of upgrade that can be applied to armor and weapon items. They increase the effectiveness of the item they are connected to. Upgrades to armor can be found in the world of games and purchased from Blacksmiths on bonfires. Additionally, they can be rescued from items with upgrade components in them using an expert or greater salvage kit.
The level of an armor's or weapon's upgrade determines the amount of damage it is able to take on. The damage absorption of an armor piece will increase as it is upgraded to the highest upgrade level. It is important to keep in mind that this will increase the weight of the armor, which means it must be heavier.
There are many different kinds of armor upgrades that are available in the game. Each has a different effect. Some upgrades give armor an additional number of health points, while others make it stronger and lighter. The type of armor upgrade that an item can get is indicated by the name of the upgrade, as illustrated in the table below.
Certain upgrades require magic or a hybrid technology and magic, which is identified by the "Magic" and "Hybrids" entries in the table. Certain upgrades require charges in order to be used. They are referred to as "Charges" entries in the table. These charges are either continuously updated or never expire based on the upgrade.
The cheapest way to upgrade armor is with Iron Ore, which can be found through exploring the surroundings and looting chests of minor loot. Titanium is more expensive however, it is available in the smelters of Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Certain upgrades, like the Reforge or the Hot Potato Books can only be used on armor pieces of the highest level. These upgrades can provide a significant improvements in performance and are worth the cost, especially for single-handed weapons.
Upgrading a piece of armor to its maximum upgrade level will greatly boost its defense but the wearer must be aware that increasing its weight will drastically reduce its speed and agility. It is not recommended to upgrade armor above +9. The defensive boost gained typically isn't worth the weight and power expenses of the upgrades.
Weapons
Weapon upgrades allow players the ability to improve certain aspects of their weapon. Upgrades can improve the accuracy of a rifle, or the damage that shotgun shells do. Certain firearms also have upgrades that improve their innate characteristics. They include Frictionless Materials (improves stability and reduces the risk of the risk of overheating) and Kinetic Coils (increases the speed of projectiles to cause more damage).
Most weapon upgrades require three Power Dices, a different amount of Minerals and Erons and a whetblade. These can be obtained by completing side quests or by killing a certain number of bosses and monsters.
The process of upgrading a weapon, equipment Set piece, or Whetblade requires visiting the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine and paying her an upgrade fee that is based on a specific number of Bars. The higher the upgrade level, the more bars required to complete it. The cost of upgrades will be lower if have more than one of the relevant upgrade materials.
In Chapter 2: Season 5 the way you upgrade your weapon and sets has changed. Before you could go to an Upgrade Bench and pay a certain number of Bars to upgrade your weapon or equipment to an increased quality. You could do this until the weapon or equipment reached its maximum upgrade level, at which point the upgrades would reset.
This is still possible, but it is dependent heavily on RNG. You should consider buying equipment that has minimal upgrade levels, but high base scores and stat distributions. They will also be able to give you the most prestigious perks and blessings.
To increase their level quicker, players usually prioritize upgrading their weapons. In addition players, they should also consider upgrading the weapons favored by their teammates to increase their power and effective. For instance, Shepard should consider upgrading the M92F to unlock the Beretta M93R, which will enhance its effectiveness when paired with experts in biotics like Grunt and Tali.
Jewels
Jewels are placed in the sockets of armor and weapons, enhancing the power of a character and bringing about secondary effects. Jewelry crafting is the process of creating them. You combine gemstones with specific reagents on a jewelry table. The higher the level of the jewel the better the secondary effect. These reagents can be obtained from Treasure Goblins and World Bosses around the world, or through salvaging Legendary Gear. You can also purchase them from The Jeweler in exchange for gold and Scattered Prisms.
The Jeweler can enhance the quality of gemstones in stages ranging from Crude up to Royal. The stat boosts will vary according to the tier that the jewel is at when it is inserted into jewelry, weapons, or gear.
All levels of jewels can be made at the Jeweler and Jeweler's Workshop, with the exception of the rare and legendary jewels which require you to be at a high enough level to obtain them. Jewels can be replaced by another jewel without destroying the original. upgrade item can only replace the jewel once in an item of equipment.
It is normal to use more jewels to enhance the appearance of. In addition to improving performance, the jewels also create a surface that is harder than metal, which means that repeated friction from pivots doesn't cause damage as easily.
A Glyphmaster can provide glyphs that can enhance the look of your weapons and shields. These glyphs provide a small boost and can be freely traded, but they are not guaranteed to appear as loot. Glyphs, like jewelry, can be upgraded at the Jeweler to exchange gold and Scattered Crystals. Glyphs may also be removed and returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components, such as aegis and traits, aren't swappable and are only recoverable by using an Upgrade Extractor, or by salvaging them using the Black Lion Salvage Kit or an Ascended Salvage Tool.
Trinkets
Trinkets are items of equipment that provide an array of small but useful benefits to your hero. They are available in the starter area as loot or personal story rewards. They can also be obtained from vendors and by the completion of road interactions. They may also be crafted by jewelers, and then found or purchased at the Trading Post.

The first trinket that a player will unlock is the cloak. It provides a tiny but beneficial boost in speed of movement and the ability to evade. The player will then be able to acquire necklaces, rings, and amulets, in a similar way similar to how they obtained weapons and armor. Each piece of equipment has one upgrade slot that can accept either a universal upgrade or a jewel upgrade. Universal upgrades are smaller and can be used on any piece of equipment. Jewels cannot be upgraded or replaced, and can only be used with certain trinkets.
These trinkets grant additional buffs and abilities that are active even when the hero isn't in combat. This lets the hero be more effective while inactive and may also help make up for a lack of a solid team or any slots in the talent tree that would normally be filled with hero's ideal stats.
A good general rule of thumb for trinket upgrades is to prioritize BiS (Best-in-Slot) items that you aren't planning to replace in the near future, then any items with desirable stats, but less important than the iLevel of the item being upgraded. This is especially true if an item has multiple stats that you'd like to upgrade, as it's usually better to upgrade a single important stat rather than two sub-optimal ones.
In the beginning of the game players in the jungle are likely to upgrade their trinket to a red in the middle and top players usually choose the pink or green ward (depending on the matchup). These choices will have a significant impact on the hero's map control abilities.
Apart from the items mentioned above, players may also find a number of other trinkets throughout the game in the form of trophies and awards. These can be obtained by completing certain milestones in the story. For instance, completing the main quest for a chapter or defeating the boss. You can view them by selecting the achievement in the reward section of the hero's menu.
